ELDERLY SUPPORT

Support our campaign to support elderly people, by creating a dedicated call centre – providing social contact, and helping them with issues stemming from isolation.

Support our appeal for the Elderly

Elderly people are particularly at risk of falling into isolation – which in turn can impact their mental health. All too often, older people become disconnected from family and community activities, and this can result in a cycle of loneliness which further impacts their wellbeing.

After our recent project work with a community faith centre in Bedfordshire (Funded by the National Lottery), we realised that many elderly people in the UK desperately feel the need to be able to talk to someone and have some sort of human interaction in their lives.

Many of them do not get to do so as their families barely have the time to sit down and talk to them while managing their busy professional and personal lives.

National Care Trust is collecting funds for the establishment of an elderly support call centre where these senior citizens can just call people who will be trained to help them deal with common issues which stem from spending time in isolation such as feeling unproductive, lonely, and disconnected from their community.

These people will not only be informed about the opportunities they have to contribute to their community’s development but also about how they can look after themselves and engage in constructive activities for their own emotional fulfilment.

Help us in the establishment of this support centre by donating to us. Let us work together to support those who worked hard for the development of our society in their youth and prevent them from suffering in isolation now that they need us the most.
