Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.nationalcaretrust.org.uk

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

At National Care Trust we understand and appreciate that your decision to choose us for your donation and philanthropic investment is an expression of confidence. You trust us with your investment and you trust us to keep secure any information we obtain from you or about you.

We understand that privacy is important, and we are strongly committed to protecting the privacy of both our current and prospective donors and investors as well as visitors to our website.

The following notice is designed to help you better understand the information we gather from donors and investors and from those who visit our site. It also describes how we handle the information once we gather it, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of the information.

Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to National Care Trust and our website and not necessarily to other companies with whom we work or to organisations’ websites to which we may link. By sharing information with National Care Trust or by visiting this site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information collection and use

Our primary goals in collecting personal information are to share information about our work, to invite you to events designed to update you on National Care Trust activities, to allow you to request information, and to thank you for your support.

Aggregate data collected online

When you browse our site, non-personal information about you is recorded by National Care Trust’s Internet servers. This information is used primarily to provide an enhanced online experience.

Information tracked may include, but is not limited to the type of operating system in use [e.g. Macintosh, Windows] and the domain name and the type of browser being used [e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc.]. This information may be used to review the number of visitors to our site and the specific pages visited, but only in an aggregate and in a non-personally-identifiable form.

E-mail addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors to this site are known only when voluntarily submitted. We care about the security of your personal data and we employ several different security techniques to protect your personally identifiable information from unauthorised access by users inside and outside the organisation.

You should be aware, however, that “perfect security” does not exist and that unauthorised third parties may unlawfully intercept or access private data. You provide us with this information at your own risk.

Sharing information

As a matter of policy, we will not sell, share or rent information about you in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. However, we may be forced to disclose information to the national or local government or law enforcement agencies under certain circumstances.

We can (and you authorise us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials, as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation into any activity that is illegal or may expose us, or you, to liability.

Privacy policy changes

We may, from time to time, make changes to this policy, based on your comments and our needs. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information, we will contact all donors directly, whether in writing, telephonically or via email, and notify all others by posting a prominent announcement on our website.

Governing law

You agree that your use of this site, this Privacy Policy and any disputes relating thereto, shall be governed in all respects by UK law. We would like to thank our donors for selecting National Care Trust to make a donation, our prospective partners for considering National Care Trust and our visitors for taking the time to understand more about National Care Trust by browsing our website. Please contact us at info@nationalcaretrust.org.uk  if you have any questions about our site or our Privacy Policy.
